I have to agree with Matt. Australia has its own version of the digital divide, that is between the haves of the technological knowhow, and those for whom sending a text message is beyond them. When our family got its first computer back in the eighties, it came with manuals and folios of information. My latest laptop came in a plastic bag, nothing else, bar a guarantee. We are forced into a situation of knowing technology....or being shunned as unclean or stupid. As we are increasing reliant on technology eg. to do assignments, access information and to communicate, are we creating a sub-culture, whether in developed countries or not, of people reduced to stand on the outer of21st century civilisation?
